Brachioplasty is a plastic surgery procedure aimed at removing sagging skin and shaping the arms. Skin becomes saggy with age or due to weight loss, leaving excess skin on the arms. Brachioplasty involves surgically removing excess skin and subcutaneous tissue on the arms. Scars on the arms remain hidden on the inner sides of the arms. This procedure is usually combined with arm liposuction.
Basic Information
- The procedure is performed under general anesthesia
- The operation lasts approximately 1 – 1.5 hours
- First outpatient check-up after 1 week
- Stitches are not removed, they are absorbable
- Resting regime and elastic bandage of the upper limbs for 2 weeks
- Swelling and bruising subside in approximately 2-3 weeks
- Full physical activity is recommended after 4 weeks
