FACELIFT – SURGICAL REJUVENATION OF FACE AND NECK
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR A FACE LIFT?
A facelift is face rejuvenation and is a type of plastic surgery. Ageing, sagging skin of face and neck are often reasons why patients turn to experts in plastic surgery. With this procedure we aim to achieve “rejuvenation“ of the face and neck as well as stretching any other parts of your face and neck that are showing signs of sagging.
The procedure is especially recommended for women age 45-55 and more.
- Classic facelift
- Neck and under chin lift
- Full facelift (including eyelid correction)
Initial consultation is an important part of preparation before undergoing any procedure, this consultation is free in our outpatient clinic. During the initial consultation the doctor will find out if you are a suitable candidate for a face lift and will explain the procedure in detail. If the facelift is not the suitable procedure for you, the doctor may suggest a non-surgical treatment – meso threads.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING PROCEDURE ITSELF?
The facelift is performed under local anaesthetic and takes on average up to 3 hours. In full face smoothing procedure – cuts are made on the hair covered temple area just in front of the earlobe. After the procedure drainage is inserted and the face is bandaged.
POST OPERATION PERIOD
Facial swelling and blood bruising can appear after surgery, these can appear on the eye lid and neck. A follow up appointment takes place 5 days after surgery where a new dressing is applied. After this appointment it’s possible to gently wash hair, make up is not applied at this stage. The next follow up appointment is 10-14 days post-surgery where we remove the stitches.
Wound healing depends on each individual patient, any following post-operative care instructions are given to the patient during the initial consultation.
HOW LONG WILL THE EFFECT LAST?
The results can be of significant psychological benefit, especially for woman, they can last several years, typically between 5-10 years.
